Detailed assessment and analysis enables me to work efficiently, utilizing unique techniques which are scientifically proven to be most effective for the issue affecting you. It is specific and integrated across all levels of tissue along the nerve pathway, addressing root cause. It improves effectiveness with less pressure, providing more gain with minimal, if any, discomfort.
The areas addressed and the length of each session are determined by the treatment that is needed. As of this writing, I am the only therapist in Houston trained by Dr Ross Turchaninov, the father of Medical Massage in the U.S.
Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT) & Trigger Point Therapy utilizes techniques that targets specific issues such as hyperirritable trigger point/knots that are very powerful in bringing relief and improvement. Good monitoring communication is used to avoid initiating a guarding reflex since that is counter-productive in getting the muscle to let go. Sessions are focused on the areas experiencing issues as well as other links in the chain that led there, rather than full body (it is deep and specific versus broad and general).
Myofascial release is a form of soft tissue therapy intended to eliminate pain, increase range of motion, and rebalance the entire body. It does this by using massage techniques to stretch the fascia and release the bonds that exist between the fascia, muscles and bones. Fascia is the connective tissue that connects and covers all muscles, organs, and skeletal structures of the body. This technique targets specific issues such as postural distortions or imbalances. It can feel very validating, exactly where/what you feel is needed. Sessions are focused on the areas experiencing issues as well as other links in the chain that led there, rather than full body (it is deep and specific versus broad and general).
CranioSacral Therapy is a gentle yet powerful technique that is effective in releasing neck pain, back pain, and mental stress (among other things). It does this by optimizing the movement of cerebrospinal fluid through the spine and around the skull. Developed by physician William Sutherland, this therapy provides a very soothing and relaxing healing experience.
Swedish Massage is a very relaxing and therapeutic style of bodywork. It combines oils or lotion with an array of strokes such as rolling, kneading, and percussion to help the body improve its circulation. The benefits of this type of bodywork are wide-ranging and include relief from aches and pains, decreased stress levels in the body, enhanced mental clarity, improved appearance, and greater flexibility.
